Everyone asks the same question, but few people have the answers. Thanks to the hard work of many, we've got a chart that even a child can read, that tells the whole story of tax breaks vs. budget cuts.

It's not that we've got a tax problem in America - it's that we've got a revenue problem. We keep giving away tax cuts like they're free lollipops at the dentist - and everyone knows those things don't come without some pain.

Donna Cooper at the Center for American Progress put together a simple infographic which compares the ten safety net programs House Republicans are looking to slash in their budget proposals, with the cost of ten tax breaks that also should be considered for elimination or simply not renewed.
